The state of California continues to give aid to its residents through relief checks. This aims to help Californians battle the impact of the rising inflation rate.
Inflation Relief Checks in California
Relief check is one of the hallmarks of federal and state officials amidst the pandemic. This time, several states across the country dole out relief checks to help residents combat the impact of the rising inflation rate that causes the increases of basic necessities.
The California Franchise Tax Board said that the relief check will be directly deposited and the disbursement will be completed in mid-November. Tax Board Spokesperson Andrew LePage said that the inflation relief checks are being processed and are expected with no delays.

Are You Qualified To Get Inflation Relief Checks?
In an article published in The Sacramento Bee, here are the qualifications for getting a direct deposit and mailed debit card:
MIDDLE TAX REFUND QUALIFICATIONS
- Filed their 2020 tax return by Oct. 15, 2021
- Meet the California adjusted gross income requirements
- Were not eligible to be claimed as a dependent
- A California resident for six months or more of the 2020 tax year
- A California resident on the date the payment is issued
CALIFORNIA INFLATION RELIEF CHECKS DIRECT DEPOSITS
- Electronically filed 2020 tax returns
- Received a Golden State Stimulus as a direct deposit
CALIFORNIA INFLATION RELIEF DEBIT CARDS
- Received a Golden State Stimulus payment by check
- Received a tax refund by check — despite filing method You filed 2020 taxes electronically, but since then changed your banking information
- Received an advance payment from tax service provider, or paid tax preparer with your tax refund
- Filed a paper tax return
- Had an outstanding balance due
Meanwhile, those who qualify for the direct deposit but don’t receive it on Nov.22 should do the following:
- Consult your 2020 CA Tax Return to re-verify eligibility.
- Contact the Middle Class Tax Refund customer support line at 800-542-9332.
