California Public Defender Elliot Blair, 33, mysteriously died in Mexico celebrating his 1-year anniversary with his wife. Whose death had been ruled an accident was dismissed by the private autopsy that determined that he was murdered.
The family’s attorney Case Barnett stated in an interview that aired last Thursday on Good Morning America that “The autopsy indicates that he, Elliot Blair, was murdered that night.” Barnett stated that the evidence points to the possibility that Blair was attacked by multiple men.
When Elliot Blair was discovered dead on the ground outside the entrance to a three-story hotel last month, he and his wife Kimberly Williams—both attorneys in the Orange County Public Defender’s Office in California—were in Rosarito, Mexico, celebrating their one-year wedding anniversary.

The family said that the answers provided by the Mexican authorities, especially the claim that Blair was shot in the head, were contradictory. Authorities in Mexico eventually came to the conclusion that Blair’s death was the result of an unfortunate accident caused by the deceased’s fall from the third level and may have been intoxicated while attempting to scare away birds.
Meanwhile, a source close to the family told the Orange County Register that two cops in Rosalito stopped Blair and his wife, Kimberly Williams, for rolling through a stop sign just hours before he died at the Las Rocas Resort and Spa on January 14. Blair didn’t have the amount demanded during the alleged shakedown, but handed over $160.00 and was let go.
“We’ve never been pulled over before,” said Williams, who confirmed the confrontation with the police to ABC News Thursday in her first interview since her husband’s death.
“We were both rattled, but at the same time we both had this feeling of thank God they didn’t do anything more to us,” she said. Less than two hours later, Blair, died after falling from the third floor of the hotel. His body was found clad in his underwear, a T-shirt and socks.
In an interview Williams in GMA, dismissed the notion that her husband accidentally fell. “I just know it’s not an accident,” Williams said. “I know he didn’t fall. I just know that.”
Williams also added that she n ever seen Blair intoxicated to the point of not being able to control himself in the nine year she had known him.
Blair’s family has sought advice from Dr. Rami Hashish, a body performance and injury expert, on the incident. Hashish stated that it is “very rare” for someone to become unbalanced when merely shooing pigeons away. However, falling over the edge of a balcony after losing balance is even less likely.
Hashish told GMA that the body’s injuries don’t appear to be the result of an accident.
“I think it’s relatively clear the injury pattern[s] just simply don’t add up with one another,” Hashish said that: the body has visible bruises. There are signs that the front of the body may be being pulled. The back of the skull has been broken. Nothing truly indicates that it was an accident in the traditional sense.
The autopsy revealed several skull fractures, which Barnett verified to Fox News Digital. He said that complete postmortem results will be ready in five weeks.
Due to worries about crime and kidnapping, the U.S. State Department has issued travel advisories and warnings for dozens of towns in Mexico, including well-known tourist spots like Rosarito, Cancun, and Acapulco.
