Attempting murder suspect tracked down by LAPD; puppy dropped from car unhurt

The suspected murder defendant who took the cops on a car chase across South Los Angeles on Friday, when a dog was dropped from the suspect’s speeding car, has been identified by police.

Police in Los Angeles claimed that 27-year-old Gustavo Alvarez was detained on charges of both attempted robbery and attempted killing. He is detained without posting bail.

The 2 women were identified by the police as Lynette Moreno, 27, of Los Angeles, and Michelle Zamudio, 25, of Santa Monica, who were detained on charges of supporting Alvarez in escaping law enforcement.

A puppy was placed in a fancy bag and thrown from the suspect’s car during the lengthy pursuit, according to authorities. The dog had not been hurt and is currently kept by South L.A. Animal Services while the police inquiry is being conducted.
