Arizona law enforcement have charged a Family Dollar employee with murder after they claim the man fired 10 bullets at a shoplifter who had attacked him.
According to accounts, a shoplifter was shot by a Family Dollar employee in Arizona after the employee ordered him to leave and the suspect slugged him in the face.
Just before 8 o’clock in the evening, the employee, Kevin Salas Madrid, came across the allegedly frequent shoplifter inside the Phoenix store near 68th Avenue and Indian School Road. Wednesday and urged the thief to stop taking things and leave the dollar store, said KTVK/KPHO.

After the shoplifter hit Madrid in the face during an argument, the store employee drew a revolver and started shooting, according to the site.
According to FOX 10 Phoenix, he allegedly shot the guy 10 times and kept firing while he was on the ground.
The guy was taken in an ambulance to a nearby hospital with serious wounds.
According to the sources, Madrid later admitted to authorities that he did not notice any weapons on the individual.
Madrid reportedly “stated he had made the worst decision of his life,” according to a probable cause statement provided by Arizona law enforcement.
Madrid was subsequently charged with several offenses, including attempted murder.

Requests for comment from a Family Dollar spokeswoman were not immediately fulfilled.
“Kevin explained he was struck and decided to shoot but looking back, he realized it was egregious,” the statement continues.
