The discredited lawyer was given two consecutive life terms by a court earlier this month for killing his wife and son, Maggie and Paul Murdaugh, in 2021. Along with the trial, competing documentary shows on Netflix and HBO Max followed the rise and fall of the illustrious family.
People who attended the auction informed WJCL that they came all the way from Virginia and Alabama.

Another customer mentioned wanting to buy Christmas presents for relatives who were following the recent double homicide trial of Alex Murdaugh.
According to WJCL, items at the auction included furniture that sold for $30,000 and mounted antlers for $10,000. The other items for sale were the family’s clothing, picture frames, and hunting gear. Even on TikTok, people discussed their experiences at the auction.
It was unclear how the auction’s proceeds would be allocated. Insider’s request for comment from Liberty Auction was not immediately reacted to.
