After encouraging kids to fight one another, an alternate educator in Mesquite ISD was dismissed

A Mesquite ISD elementary school alternative teacher was dismissed afterward, according to the district, she “pushed students to fight back throughout the class.”

A district representative told CBS News Texas that the incidents were captured on a video clip the day before in a Kimbrough Middle School classroom and that they were made aware of the recording on Thursday. They started an “immediate inquiry,” claims a statement sent through the mail.

The inquiry, according to the statement, “showed that this alternative instructor urged students to engage in battles with each other within a class, provided guidelines for the students to stick to, and even gave a student instructions to watch the classroom door during the fights were going on.”

The district suspended the unidentified temporary teacher on Thursday after she was previously employed there until March 6. According to the district, her behaviors were “appalling and intolerable,” and the Mesquite Police Department was notified of the situation to “investigate potential criminal accusations.”
