A Florida sheriff wrote a scathing letter to President Biden telling him of his “responsibility to defend the people of the United States” after hundreds of illegal immigrants were caught last week after attempting to land near Hutchinson Island.
Martin County Sheriff William Snyder stated in an email to the president on Thursday, “Previous night, my Marine Patrol deputies participated in arresting 59 unauthorized aliens trying to get onto our beach.
He writes, “Had these people been successful, they would probably have moved through our town unnoticed. “It is impossible to see how they would have adjusted and become law-abiding citizens with undiscovered ties to this place.”
A federal officer also informed Snyder that his unit was “overloaded and eager for extra resources” and that he thought they were ignoring far more illegals than they were capturing.
I will keep defending the Constitution and Florida’s laws, as I promised in my pledge to protect my constituents, stated Snyder. “Including all due respect, I want you to think about the word you took to pledge yourself and your department to safeguard our borders and, thus, the nation’s citizens.”
