A Woman in Florida Arrested for Killing 27-Year-Old Mother in Random Shooting

A Florida woman has been arrested for allegedly shooting and killing a 27-year-old woman while shooting at random vehicles in Orange County. Angila Baxter, 56, was arrested by homicide detectives and charged with second-degree murder with a firearm for the death of Nekaybaw Collier.

The sheriff’s office reported that Baxter fired shots at multiple vehicles and people, killing Collier, due to her claim of being followed. They expressed condolences to Collier’s family, noting that she was an innocent victim.

Collier was pronounced dead at the hospital after being found unresponsive in her car on Jan. 12. Autopsy revealed bullets from Baxter’s revolver were found in her body.

A man flagged down the deputies, according to Fox 35 on January 20, 2023, claiming that a Black female in a red SUV had shot at him while he was driving on North Pine Hills Road on January 12. The car was found sitting in the middle of the road near the intersection of Belco Drive.

Another woman also reported the same woman shouting profanities and hitting her car. Two days later, she found bullet holes on her car and located a witness.

A witness identified Baxter as the person shooting at cars and yelling expletives in a photo lineup, as stated by the deputies. Baxter admitted to shooting her gun in the area where Collier was killed, due to feeling followed by multiple vehicles. She was arrested and is in Orange County Jail.
