A man who allegedly made violent threats was arrested, and investigators discovered a cache of guns and ammunition in his Hollywood high-rise apartment, where several rifles were pointed at a nearby park, police said Wednesday.
Officers responded to a report of a possible mental health situation on Gordon Street near Sunset Boulevard on Tuesday morning, according to a police statement.
Braxton Johnson, 24, was later arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats and was being held on $500,000 bail, according to authorities.
According to police, Johnson was arrested after allegedly threatening security personnel at the building and people outside with weapons.

According to a police spokeswoman at a news conference on Wednesday, Johnson was living alone in an apartment complex on the 18th floor with huge windows and a “unobstructed view of a park and a public area downstairs.” Some of the guns were pointing outside the windows.
Although Johnson was not armed, police discovered two assault rifles and high-capacity ammunition magazines in his apartment, all of which are illegal in California.
According to police, three handguns, a sniper rifle, a shotgun, and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition were also seized.
Johnson had just moved into his new apartment. He was already being investigated for a violent crime in another state on the East Coast, according to police. They didn’t have any additional information right away.
