The first English-subtitled trailer video for the A Couple of Cuckoos manga was released on Monday by the official website of the series, revealing additional cast members, the opening music, and the April debut of the anime.
It started in 2020, A Couple of Cuckoos is a romantic comedy series by Miki Yoshikawa. In addition to being serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine, it is also released under the Kodansha Comics label.
As reported by Anime News Network, additional cast members have also been confirmed, with Ryouhei Kimura and Youko Hikasa taking on the roles of Youhei Umino and Namie Umino, the parents of the main character Nagi Umino, respectively. Toshiyuki Morikawa and Yukiko Aruga are portraying Nagi’s birth parents, Souchirou Amano and Ritsuko Amano, respectively, in the anime series.
The show’s four major protagonists are prominently featured in both the trailer and the visuals. The trailer also includes a preview of the opening song “Dekoboko,” which is performed by Kiyoe Yoshioka, a vocalist of Ikimono-gakari, according to Anime Trending.

Kiyoe Yoshioka expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to compose the opening theme for the television anime ‘A Couple of Cuckoos,’ which would feature the song ‘Dekoboko.’
The song was written by Haruko Nagaya of the Ryokuoushoku Shakai and composed an uplifting and joyful love song.
“I’m so happy! I would be glad if this song can color the main characters of ‘A Couple of Cuckoos,’ who are tossed about by fate, along with the anime,” said Yoshioka, as quoted by Crunchyroll.
In addition, the tenth volume of A Couple of Cuckoos is being released in Japan today. The story is introduced by the publisher of the English edition, Kodansha USA.
The 16-year-old student who excels in the classroom Nagi Umino, a second-year student at Meguro River Academy high school, was switched at birth. He meets Erika Amano, a loud, outspoken woman who is trying to make Nagi her pretend boyfriend because she has no intention of getting married.
Nagi unexpectedly encounters Erika while on his way to dinner with his birth parents. After making it to dinner, Nagi discovers that his parents have chosen to resolve the hospital switch by having him marry the daughter his birth parents raised, who happens to be none other than Erika.
