On Thursday, West Virginia’s officials found suspected human remains amidst the search for missing 28-year-old Gretchen Fleming.
Gretchen Fleming was last seen on Dec. 4 during the early morning hours at My Way Lounge in Parkersburg, where she reportedly left with an unnamed male.
Her family reported her missing on Dec. 12. According to WTOV, after two hours outside where Fleming went missing in Parkersburg, suspected human remains were found in Elm Grove.
On Thursday, a County Sheriff of Ohio named Tom Howard told the FOX affiliate that the officers were led to the suspected human remains after a call he got from his office from another department regarding a missing person.
Tom Howard said that the Kepner Funeral Home took the remains where a medical examiner will perform an investigation.
Parkersburg Police Lt. James Stalnaker previously told Fox News Digital that a person of interest is the unnamed male she was last seen with.
Stalnaker said he is a person of interest in this investigation and they know Fleming left with him. They also believe that she traveled back to his residence with him. He’s given inconsistent statements.
He said that through his mission, she was at one point in his vehicle, but he’s claiming that Fleming didn’t make it to his house. There is no indication they knew each other before his evening.
Police Lt. James Stalnaker said that Gretchen Fleming left her purse at the bar, which carried belongings including her phone as well as debit and credit cards. According to police, Gretchen Fleming was at the bar and showed up with a different person.
