In a defiant speech in Florida just hours after the historic Donald Trump indictment, the former president said that America is “going to hell” after someone had messed with the election to hurt him.

He made the remarks as National World reported that Trump flew back to Florida after pleading not guilty to 34 felony charges of falsifying business records in the first degree in a Manhattan courthouse.

The charges are the first time a former US President has been charged with a crime. They are related to Trump’s hush payments to porn star Stormy Daniels before he won the 2016 election.

Trump Indictment: Ex-President Says America is Going to Hell

After pleading not guilty to falsifying business records to hide damaging information before the 2016 election, Donald Trump said in a defiant speech (per The Telegraph) that the US is “going to hell.”

The former President said that the Trump indictment was “an insult to our country” and that he had not done anything wrong. This was just hours after he was charged with paying hush money to a porn star, a glamour model, and a former doorman to keep quiet about affairs with them.

Even though the former president had been warned about his language in court in New York, he yelled at the judge in charge of the Trump indictment and called him the “real criminal.”

The 76-year-old arrived in his “Trump Force One” private jet after pleading not guilty to 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in a New York court. This sent the US into uncharted territory and threatens to overshadow the 2024 presidential election.

At his beachfront mansion in southern Florida, he told a crowd of several hundred supporters that he never thought something like this could happen in America. Behind him were two American flags.

In a speech where he repeated many things he liked to say about his political opponents, he said that the country is going to hell and suggested that he lost the 2020 vote “unfairly.”

Pro- and Anti-Trump Supporters on Surreal Day

The 74-year-old gave a powerful speech Tuesday night in the ballroom of his Mar-a-Lago estate to a crowd of about 500 loyal supporters after the Trump indictment. In the speech, he portrayed himself as a political martyr.

In the crowd at Mar-a-Lago were supporters like Kari Lake, who ran for governor of Arizona but lost, and longtime friend Roger Stone. Melania, Trump’s wife, was not with him and was not seen with him in New York.

The Guardian said many of the people protesting against Trump had been dancing, singing, and chanting since about 9:30 a.m. that day. Someone had given out whistles, and people blew them in happiness while waiting for the results of the Trump indictment.

On the side of the barricade where Trump supporters were, it was quiet. No one cried out or fell to their knees. Instead, there was just a low murmur as people in red Maga hats muttered and swore.
