See If You Are Eligible
To be eligible, you should be a current or past customer of Volkswagen or Audi or someone who is interested in becoming one. Also, you were supposed to get a letter in June 2021 telling you that your personal information may have been exposed during the data hack to get VW or Audi settlement. The breach, which happened between August 2019 and May 2021, is said to have revealed sales and marketing data from 2014 to 2019.
Here’s how much you can make from the town based on which group you end up in.
- Nationwide PI exposure subclass: $20
- Nationwide SPI exposure subclass: $80
- California SPI subclass: $350
Also, the VW or Audi settlement will pay back any out-of-pocket costs that were caused by the data hack. Eligible claimants can also file for up to $5,000 for fraud, identity theft, credit expenses, communication charges, and up to four hours of unpaid time off work at $50 per hour. This means that users in California could be getting VW or Audi settlement up to $5,350.

People who want to get money back for out-of-pocket losses will have to show proof. The settlement terms stated that documents should be clear and easy to read since you won’t get anything back.
