Trump called for protests over a possible arrest, says Chris Christie: “The circus continues”

In reply to a query about former President Trump’s statement that he will be detained on Tuesday in link to an accusation of bribe money payout to adult-film porn star Stormy Daniels, former New Jersey governor Chris Christie (R) on Sunday stated, “the circus continues” and advised his supporters to demonstrate.

“The circus keeps going. He only succeeds and makes money at times of instability and disturbance. He wants to spread destruction and chaos according to his terms. He wants it on his terms, not anyone else’s, Christie stated on ABC’s “This Week.”

He added, “But watching the result, being accused, never helps anybody,” as several politicians predicted that Trump’s legal troubles would energize his supporters.

In light of the New York grand jury’s investigation into the suspected hush-money scam during his 2016 presidential campaign, Trump, who’s running for president in 2024, stated on Saturday that he anticipates being detained on Tuesday.

Trump asked his supporters to “protest, get our country back” in a Truth Social post on Saturday after saying he might be jailed that day.

Christie predicted on Sunday that since they “know the most” about it, individuals will consider this inquiry into Trump “less serious” than some others.
