Officially, astronomers and NASA scientists have found a second Earth

According to a recent study, astronomers found a planet that is almost similar in size to Earth and is in the habitable zone of its star. This planet may contain liquid water all over its surface.

Liquid water on the planet is another sign that it might be home to life.

Kepler-1649c, a recently discovered world, is 300 light-years from Earth and revolves around a star roughly one-fourth the size of our sun.

What’s fascinating is that, according to NASA, among the more than 2,000 exoplanets found, this one is closest to Earth in terms of size and predicted temperature.

Thomas Zurbuchen, the associate administrator of NASA’s science mission branch in Washington, D.C., stated that this fascinating, far-off planet offers us even more confidence than what a second Earth is hiding between the stars and waiting to be discovered.

There aren’t any additional exoplanets that are nearer to Earth in both of these values and are located in the habitable zone of its planet, unlike NASA’s claims of different exoplanets that are expected to be nearer to Earth in size as well as others that might be nearer to Earth in temperature.

Only 1.06 times as big as our globe is this newly discovered planet. The amount of illumination it gets from its host star is 75% of that of the sun.
