While this was undoubtedly the case this year, Tom Cruise, along with several other high-profile A-listers, was likely the most obvious omission from the event.
Considering that Top Gun: Maverick’s Best Photo nomination was its first in nearly 25 years and that he was praised as saving Hollywood by releasing the legacy sequel at the perfect time to take advantage of unstoppable momentum, you’d have expected the action hero would have attended in person.
After the speculations that Cruise must have networked a bit too much throughout the campaign, another set of filthy claims has developed suggesting that Cruise must have skipped the Oscars out of nervousness about having to sit there and respond on television to jokes made about him.
