Draymond Green requests that United States discontinue “Black History Month” by saying, “Teach my history from Jan 1 to Dec 31”

The month of February is dedicated to appreciating the diversity, history, and culture of Black Americans who struggled to remove all sorts of racism in the country. Yet as per former DPOY Draymond Green, such a culture must end permanently.

“Could we get away from Black History Month at some point? like, finally? Why do we have to continue having the smallest month to honor our history? I’m not going to be the fool to say, “Yes, we can enjoy for 28 days,” in response to governors who want to remove our past from the classrooms. Thus, I would prefer to get rid of it finally,” Green stated, as reported by Complex.

The four-time NBA champion highlighted the need for people to be aware of the sacrifices and difficulties the black community faces all year long instead of focusing on it during just 28 days.

“With all the changes occurring in the nation, Black History Month must finally be removed. Not Black History Month, which they’re seeking to remove, but Black History? Nope. Teach me the events between January 1 and December 31 and then repeat the process. What I hope to see is that” added Green.

Ron DeSantis, governor of Florida, “restated the state’s disapproval of a planned nationwide advanced African American studies course, claiming it advances a political agenda,” which is when Draymond made his statements.
