While being a bestseller on at least one list, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) is criticizing Gov. Ron DeSantis’ latest book.
The Dare to Be Free is under fire from The Democratic War Room, which claims that the book covers some of his “extensive track record of promoting an aggressive agenda and going after the MAGA base.”
Democrats claim DeSantis ignored the fact that he “signed a harsh abortion restriction with no protections for rape or child abuse — while he’s promised to do more to sign anti-abortion legislation.”
Also, the Governor claimed, ” for being a founding member of the radical right-wing House Freedom Caucus — and left off his record of favoring cutbacks to Social Security and Medicare,” according to the DNC War Room.
Although the ongoing conflict between the Governor and the former President, whose support pushed him to statewide victories in 2018, is widely known, the DNC War Room notes that there isn’t much in the book to show the 2 are headed in opposite directions.
The Democratic War Room complains that across the book, DeSantis is open about his enthusiasm for President Trump and the MAGA program, describing his time spent gaining Trump’s support and violently defending him in front of the public.
The DNC also highlighted DeSantis’ weakening of former governor Rick Scott as a candidate in 2018, following the approval of gun control measures in response to the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
