With backing from both parties, the Federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) was established in 1975 to assist working families with children in escaping poverty. As a result, the EITC is frequently cited as the country’s biggest program for alleviating poverty. Given that the majority of tax credit users utilize their refunds to make purchases of necessities in their communities, it plays a key role in community economic development.

According to Jennifer Robinson, Third Federal Community Development Manager, “We are happy to assist this crucial community need.” “Qualified participants may benefit from this free service, which eliminates the stress, uncertainty, and expense that may be related to filing taxes.”

To schedule an appointment and learn what identification and papers they will need to bring with them in order to receive the FREE tax preparation assistance, participants who wish to attend the event should visit refundohio.org or call 2-1-1.

The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland, the City of Cleveland, the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, CHN Housing Partners, Cuyahoga County consumer affairs, Third Federal, the IRS, and the Slavic Village Development Corporation are just a few of the local agencies, groups, and municipalities providing services at the event.
