Texas Man Officially Confesses to Killing and Mistreating his New Wife

A Waller County Sheriff’s Office news release claims that a Texas man confessed to police that he killed and mutilated his wife.

As per online court documents, Jared James Dicus was detained on Wednesday and accused of first-degree murder.

At about 4:35 p.m. on Wednesday, the Waller County Sheriff’s Office answered a call about a suspected death at a property in southeast Texas about an hour from Houston.

Behind the house, in a “small residential structure,” deputies discovered a woman’s body. The body had been dismembered, the sheriff’s office reported. Her body had been partially separated, according to NBC station KPRC 2, and blood was throughout the house.

Anggy Diaz, age 21, was the victim, according to Waller County Judge Trey Duhon and her family. Dicus, the dead woman’s husband, was caught immediately and is said to have later admitted to killing his wife to the police.

Online court records show that the suspect is being held under a $500,000 bail. He currently has no attorneys listed on file for him.

Judge Duhon remembered marrying the young couple in October 2022 in a Facebook post.

He wrote they were a very charming young couple for the little time I spent with them. “My prayers are with all of their families,” “and like many of you, I am deeply saddened and disturbed by the news of this horrible occurrence.”

Duhon stated that he removed a post that featured a photo of him with Diaz and Dicus and announced their marriage “mainly due to the harsh tone of several comments” commented on the post.
