Direct Payment Arriving in a Couple of Days!
According to the Social Security Administration’s schedule, people who file as individuals will collect $914. The next direct payment arriving is due on May 1, and is one of 12 installments that those who get SSI get each year.
Most SSI payments are issued to people on the first business day of the month. In April, however, April 1 was a weekend, thus there was no direct payment arriving. Other organizations can also get the cash on May 1.
Couples that qualify will get a payout of $1,371. People who live with someone who gets SSI and take care of them as needed will get a $458 payout.

Checks Scheduling
The SSA says that checks are sent on the last working day of the month before when the first day of the month will be on a weekend or a holiday. This makes sure that the check gets to the person by the beginning of the month. Due to this strange scheduling issue, people got two checks in March, one on March 1 and the second on March 31.
In January 1974, the Social Security Administration gave out its first SSI payment. Since 1975, the amount people get has gone up every year because of changes in the cost of living, the agency stated.
The extra payments are not part of the basic monthly retirement pension that retirees get.
