63-Year-Old Man Sentenced For Brutally Killing Teen More Than 4 Decades Ago

BUFFALO, N.Y. (TCD) –The 63-year-old man was sentenced lately to 25 years to life in prison after fatally stabbing a 19-year-old female inside her residence more than four decades ago.

The District Attorney’s Office said the brother of the victim found her dead in the living room. He reportedly lived with her in the front house of the property. When the brother went to go check on his sister he saw her body in the living room lifelessly.

The news release from Erie County District Attorney’s Office said that, on Feb. 8, 1978, of that morning, John Sauberan went into the 100 block of Pooley Place where Linda Tschari’s home was, and he then stabbed her numbly multiple times.

Buffalo Man Sentenced For Brutally Killing Teen More Than 4 Decades Ago

According to a published post by True Crime Daily, authorities were reportedly able to link Sauberan to the deadly attack following a felony conviction in Oregon using the DNA evidence. The District Attorney’s Office was there and according to them, “Prosecutors found no proof that the defendant was known to the victim.”

“The family of Linda Tschari has waited practically 45 years for justice,” said Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn

On Oct. 11, the 65-year-old Sauberan was found guilty of second-degree murder

Finally, on Tuesday, Dec. 13, Sauberan paid for his sins with Erie County Court Judge Sheila A. DiTullio he received the utmost sentence of 25 years to life.

Painful as it seems, the 19-year-old girl can now rest in peace after being wickedly stabbed by the man.
