$500 Monthly Cook County Income Pilot Program Application Closes on Friday
The deadline is hovering guaranteed $500 monthly payments for two years for the Cook County residents to apply for the Income Pilot Program. Cook County promised that the program, which was filed earlier this month, will provide 3,250 qualified residents with a $500 monthly payment for 2 years according to a published post by NBC Chicago.
According to county officials, the program receives 184,000 applications as of Monday. Pilots supported by the Federal American Rescue Plan Act are accepting applications online till 11:59 p.m. on Friday, October 21st.
According to county officers, 72% of the majority, identified as female, were calculated as of Monday. While 64% list their race as Black. Applicants who were identified as Hispanic were 24% of the population, and another 19% were identified as white. In the past years, half of the applicants indicated they’ve been to the emergency room. 28% have postponed some form of medical care for financial reasons, and approximately 22% don’t have health insurance.

As reported by the county, the following are the ways to apply:
– Must be 18 years of age or older
– Resides in Cook County for the duration of the program
– Immigrants, including illegal immigrants, are eligible for the program
According to cook county, family income must be 250% or less of the federal poverty level, which means up to $33,975 a year for a single person. For a family of 4, household income must be $69,375 or below. Email or mobile phone numbers will be asked for an online application to contact participants.
However, you may alternatively provide contact info for a community organization, relative, or friend instead. Applicant must also upload a government-issued ID card containing a photo or selfie.
Guidelines for federal poverty that correlate with home size to determine eligibility: Residents who are already participating in the Income Guarantee Pilot Program, such as in Evanston and Chicago, are ineligible to partake in the Cook County Program. Those who are selected for the program will start accepting payments in December 2022.
