The $500 Guaranteed Income Program Applicants

The initiative, which will choose 125 applications for the $500 Guaranteed Income Program from the city’s more than 100,000 residents, is designed to assist mothers. Those chosen to take part in the experiment would be given debit cards, a spokesperson of the city manager’s office informed in an interview.

The city will provide a $500 Guaranteed Income Program on the debit card each month. It can be used by people to make purchases of products and services anywhere that accepts debit cards. Participants will receive instructions from the city on how to use the debit card.

The city’s website states that this program’s application period began on March 27 and ends on April 15.
