Residents of El Monte, California, have only nine days left to sign up for a program that will give them $500 guaranteed every month for a year.

A spokesperson from the city manager’s office told the Washington Examiner, “People who are chosen to take part in the program will be given a debit card.” “The city will put $500 guaranteed on the card every month.
People can pay for goods and services with it anywhere that takes debit cards. Participants will be taught how to use the bank card by the city.”
Those who want to apply for this program can do so online, by mail, or in person at the city manager’s office. The people who will get $500 guaranteed from this program will be chosen by April 26, and the city thinks that the first payment will go out on June 1.
A resident in El Monte who is the sole female head of household without a spouse or domestic partner in the home and who has children under the age of 17 is eligible.
Additionally, candidates must be able to provide evidence of their need for financial assistance due to the coronavirus epidemic, as well as documentation of their attendance in school, proof of residency, proof of income, and a government-issued ID.
