$500 a Month Amount People will Receive for 2 Years through Alexandria’s Guaranteed Income Program
City Mayor stated, “To help people and families, we’ll provide funds for them to decide how best to meet their living necessities.” Alexandria, Va. The soon-to-be-launched Guaranteed Income Pilot Program in Alexandria offers selected residents funds worth up to $500 a month for two years.
According to a published post by WUSA9, Virginia announced that the application period starts from October 31, 2022, to November 9, and is available online for Alexandria’s Recurring Income for Success and Equity (ARISE). 170 eligible applicants will be randomly selected by the program and will be given $500 per month for 24 months to spend freely.

A Guaranteed Income Program For Alexandria Will Provide People With $500 Every Month For 2 Years
According to a news release, these pilot programs have proven to affect poverty and economic injustice. ARISE enables cities to sample bold approaches to providing individuals have what they need to make judgments that support their welfare and lifestyle. Alexandria’s Mayor, Justin Wilson, stated, “We provide funds to help people decide how to meet their needs.” Mayor added, “We created this unique program to develop ways to help our neighbors. That’s the purpose of ARISE.”
There are no citizenship or job requirements to qualify. To be eligible, an Alexandria resident must be at least 18 yrs. old and have an income cap of no more than 50% of her average Alexandria income. All qualified residents recommended applying for the opportunity to obtain and accept additional earnings.
