The Maine Legislature signed the approval of relief checks for Maine residents battling with high winter heating expenses as part of a support package approved on Wednesday.

Maine Now Starting to Mail Relief Paychecks for Residents
The package has about $400 million to be utilized to support $450 paychecks to an estimated 880,000 residents of Maine. It supplies an additional $40 million to bolster the federal heating assistance program that has been managed through community action partnerships.
This also imparts emergency fuels with an amount of $10 million for emergency fuel support and $21 million to maintain an emergency relief housing budget to assist homeless people.
The state of Maine plans to start giving off the relief checks before the end of the month, as attested by the News Center Maine. All paychecks are anticipated to be mailed by the end of March.
$450 Started to Enter Maine Residents’ Mails
To be eligible for these heating relief checks was similar to when Mills sent out an $850 inflation relief check last summer. Based on the Department of Administrative and Financial Services, the qualifications are according to Maine 2021 income tax return.
If you filed as a single person and has an income lower than $100,000 that year, filed as a head of the house and has an income lower than $150,000, or filed as a married couple and had an income lower than $250,000, you are eligible for these paychecks.
