The TDCJ’s recent report found that a Huntsville convict took advantage of short-handed security forces and flaws in the security system to escape with a Texas prison transport bus to allegedly take Myrick for a medical appointment earlier this year. Related to what Myrick was trying to do, Gonzalo Lopez, a convicted murderer, escaped from a prison transport bus near Centerville.
A few weeks later, Lopez died in a shootout with the police after murdering Mark Collins and his four grandchildren. But, for the first time, we saw a glimpse of the prison bus transportation that failed to hold arrest prisoner Gonzalo Lopez before he escaped and executed another crime.
