23-year-old Florida Man Allegedly Fatally Shot His Ex-Girlfriend After She Didn’t Text Him Back
MELBOURNE, Fla. (TCD) – According to a Melbourne Police press release on the 20th day of December, around 7:00 A.M. That authorities responded to the 2800 block of Colbert Circle to a report of a shooting. Officers at the same scene reportedly found a 23-year-old victim named Sha’dayla Johnson.
Despite life-saving efforts upon founding her, Johnson did not survive, Police said. After further investigation, the police reportedly identified the victim’s ex-boyfriend, named Carlos Jones, as the person of interest. WPEC-TV reports that in an interview, the victim’s father said his daughter was on her way to work and suddenly he heard gunshots as she was leaving.
According to a published post by True Crime Daily, the father turned around and reportedly saw her daughter’s ex-boyfriend, Jones, peeking out from behind his daughter’s car.

Ex-Girlfriend Fatally Shot After Failing to Text Man Back
When the victim’s father went out to check on his daughter, Sha’dayla Johnson, he found his daughter lying face down in front of the car, covered in blood. According to the Police, Jones turned himself in around 10 A.M. He reportedly informed the police that he was upset because Johnson, his ex, did not answer his calls or reply to his text messages.
Jones allegedly confronted Sha’dayla Johnson when she went to her job, and Johnson turned her back on him before Carlos Jones fatally shot her. Investigators revealed to WPEC that Johnson and Jones were in a relationship and had lived together for five months, two weeks before the shooting and before they broke up.
According to the Police, Carlos Jones was charged with premeditated first-degree murder and a felony charge of using a firearm.
