The City of Santa Clarita Arts and Events division is seeking entries for an upcoming exhibit that will feature art within the theme of “Traditions and Connections.”
The “Traditions and Connections” exhibition will be displayed in conjunction with the One Story, One City program, which is presented by the Santa Clarita libraries. This year, the One Story, One City program has selected “The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane” by Chinese-American author Lisa See as its featured book. “The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane” explores Chinese traditions, Chinese-American history, tea farming and mother-daughter bonds, according to the author’s website.
Since this year’s One Story, One City book is “The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane, the City of Santa Clarita Arts and Events division is looking to highlight art that integrates family connection, traditions or mother-daughter relationships.
Entries for the exhibit are open until Jan. 10. Artists from anywhere within Los Angeles County and Ventura County are invited to submit entries. Entries can be submitted at www.santa-clarita.com/CallForArtists.
The exhibit will be displayed from Mar. 1 to May 31 in the First Floor Gallery at Santa Clarita City Hall.
