Assemblywoman Christy Smith has been appointed by Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon as chair of the Joint Legislative Committee on Emergency Management.

The new assemblymember for the 38th Assembly District will also serve on the Education, Jobs and the Economy, Accountability and Administrative Review, and Privacy and Consumer Protection committees.

“Thank you to Speaker Anthony Rendon for the honor of serving as Chair of the Joint Legislative Committee on Emergency Management,” Smith said in a Facebook post. “I am eager to get to work on my additional committee assignments as a member of the Education; Jobs, Economic Development, and the Economy; Accountability and Administrative Review; and Privacy and Consumer Protection Committees.”
