The William S. Hart Union High School District is seeking applicants for two new positions on the Measure SA Citizens’ Oversight Committee.
Applicants must either be active in the business community within the district or a person involved with a parent organization with a child in the district. Employees, contractors, vendors and consultants of the district are not eligible to be on the committee.
The committee currently includes Denny & Company partner Matthew Denny, retired assistant principal Dr. Ana Dwork, Santa Clarita Philharmonic President Dr. Mark Elfont, Patriotic Investments President David Goss, Summit West Public Relations & Marketing owner Barbara Myler, California United Bank Executive Vice President William Sloan, Newhall School District Governing Board member Suzan Solomon and SCVTV President Leon Worden.
Measure SA is a $300 million school facilities general obligation bond for the construction of new school facilities and the improvement of existing facilities that was passed by voters in Nov. 2008.
Initial Measure SA funds have been earmarked for the acquisition, development and planning of Castaic High School. The bond will also fund construction projects such as performing arts centers at Canyon High School and Saugus High School and improvement projects at other schools in the district, according to the district website.
