A 10 -year-old boy intentionally and fatally shot his 44-year-old mother for not buying him a virtual reality headset on Amazon.

10-Year-Old Boy Fatally Shot his Mother

The initial report of the police authorities said that the unnamed 10-year-old boy accidentally shot his 44-year-old mother, Quiana Mann, on Nov. 21. The boy told the police officers that he shot her mother while he was playing with the gun in their house.

However, the boy admitted later that he intentionally shot his mother. In a published report in International Business Times, the boy said that he took the gun from the lockbox because his mother woke him up early and did not buy him a virtual reality headset on Amazon.

Child Did Not Show Remorse and Family Members Raising Concerns

The 10-year-old boy was initially allowed to stay with his family because of his age. However, his relatives called the cops a day later and raised concerns. One of the members of the family said that the boy did not show any remorse or even cry about his mother’s death.

They also added that the boy instead access the Amazon account of her deceased mother and ordered the virtual reality headset the next morning. When asked about the death of her mother, he said, “I’m really sorry for what happened. I’m sorry for killing my mom.”

Angela Cunningham, the child’s attorney, said “This is an absolute family tragedy. I don’t think anybody would deny or disagree with that … The adult system is absolutely ill-equipped to address the needs of a 10-year-old child.”
